Alexandriah Muhanji is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and legal practitioner with Thirteen (15) years of experience in corporate and commercial law; property, real estate and conveyance; banking and finance securities; human rights and family law including civil litigations. She has demonstrated capabilities in program management, partnerships building; people management, training and capacity building gained in both public and private sector organizations. Muhanji holds a Master degree in Women’s Law from Southern and Eastern Africa University, Zimbabwe, a Bachelor’s degree in law from Moi University, Kenya and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law leading to the Admission onto the Roll of Advocates in November 11, 2005.

She is currently an Associate Consultant with Maxworth Associates and also the founder and managing partner at Muhanji & Muhanji Associates, a law firm providing legal advisory services on human rights and family law

Previously, she has worked as an advocate with Sheth & Wathigo company Advocates, Member of the Kiambu County Public Service Board, Program Officer – Treaty Monitoring and Research with Federation of Women Lawyers and Program Coordinator with Kenya Women Judges Association (KWJA). She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA) And ICJ-Kenya.

HR/ Labour Work and Consulting Experience:

  • Developed Strategic plans for CMD Kenya and HFG including review of previous Strategic Plans.
  • Developed training manuals and facilitated various training and capacity building programs on the Law of Succession, Sexual Offences Act and Children Act among others.
  • Developed a training manual on ‘Jurisprudence of Equality” for training of Judges on international law on behalf of Kenya Women Judges Association in collaboration with American Women Judges Association.
  • Designed and facilitated trainings focused on women’s participation in governance and leadership processes, right to health, the truth justice and peace process and economic justice processes.
